This weekend Josh worked on getting more of the new nursery ready, and was pleased to have a little assistant.

She helped primarily by picking up extra pieces of molding and drawing on the instructions for the crib.

Since Daddy was holding molding up to the wall, Claire thought she would put her piece on the back of the changing table.

She was instrumental in helping Josh level and mark the molding.

Thanks to their teamwork we are one step closer to a finished nursery!

Claire met her little cousin Landry for the first time this past week. The girls seemed to enjoy each other. I didn’t get any really fabulous pictures, but hopefully we’ll have more opportunities for that in the future!

Thanks Harrells for bringing us dinner and coming over to play!!!

Well, Anna and I can now breathe a sigh of relief. We no longer have to actually shop - just drive to the store, set Claire loose, and pick up the tab.

This weekend we went down to Galveston to visit Granddaddy and BB. We’re excited that they have moved closer!
Checking out the lake behind the house -

Though we did several things while we were there, the favorite for Claire by far was the trip to the Moody Gardens Aquarium.

Claire pushed the stroller around while we waited for the tram. Just FYI - you apparently have to either call for the tram or just get lucky…they don’t make regular rounds. And they don’t post that information anywhere that I’ve seen…I’m going to be kind and just call that policy interesting.

Exploring the Aquarium.

Checking out the penguins with Daddy.

Pointing out the “fisss” (which is what she called every creature there, by the way. I think it was extra exciting because Claire had watched Finding Nemo on the way down.

Walking through the water tunnel!

Claire’s favorite part of the aquarium was the seals. They would swim right by the glass and each time Claire would say “whoa!” She was so shocked and delighted every time he swam by.
Having seen Claire’s response to that aquarium, Josh and I are excited about taking her to the one here sometime soon for a special day with Mommy and Daddy!
It was a great trip, but at 34 weeks pregnant I am certainly happy to be back home and done with travel for a couple of months!!!

It’s a little late, but I didn’t want to let the month pass without acknowledging Claire’s 18 month mark!
Her wellness checkup went well and she is now weighing in at 20 lbs 10 oz, so we’ve finally broken 20 lbs!!!
What she’s up to these days:
- Can point out/name lots of body parts, especially the face area.
- Says “up please” when she wants to get up or down from where she is and needs help.
- Likes to “tickle” daddy.
- Says “mooooo” every time we pass a field because she thinks there must be cows in it.
- Loves keys! She carries them around and “unlocks” things.
- Brings us her bow and shoes to put on so she can go outside.
- Says bye-bye and blows goodbye kisses.
- Loves to give kisses and will sometimes run across the room to give them.
- Loves to have daddy put her to bed, so much so that once she’s in her pj’s she climbs in daddy’s arms and tells mommy “night-night”.
- Is fascinated by other kids, especially older ones and is not intimidated by them at all.
- Favorite time is bath time, especially when there are bubbles.
There are just so many more little things, but I had to write these down before I forgot. Everyday she does something that makes Josh and I realize just what a blessing she is and how quickly she is learning! We’re just so excited to see adapt to becoming a big sister soon!
