Milk and cereal has long been one of my favorite meals, snacks, etc., but after this experience last night I don’t know if I can look at it in the same way ever again.
At first she wasn’t nuts about it (and quite frankly I don’t blame her - I mixed it with formula this time so it smelled awful!), but when she realized she could “assist” me in getting the cereal into her mouth she seemed pleased as punch to eat it. I think it was more about being able to chew on the spoon and get covered in sticky, gritty mess than actually eating something new.
I was less excited about Claire’s hands-on approach, but whatever gets her excited about food works, right?
Notice how I’m using as little of my fingers as possible to touch that mess. I’m sure soon I’ll wish we were back here at the rice cereal and pureed vegetable stage because of how un-messy it was in comparison, but right now I’m still in the adjustment period.
I guess it’s time to invest in a high-chair.
