This tummy bug is very powerful. Claire is still sick. 
And now both Josh and my mom caught the bug too! So it’s just me left in the “healthy” category…and we’ll see how long it lasts!
Since I haven’t taken any pictures or videos of my sick family, I will post a little video from a few weeks ago of Claire taking her lion out for a spin. Can’t wait to get back to healthier days!

So this is last Sunday on the way home from church. We had the windows down and she was loving the wind blowing through her hair.
And then this is yesterday morning, when life was still blissful and puke-free…
We took Claire to the neighborhood park and she loved it! First she was swinging with Daddy.
Then he took her up to the top of the playground.
And she loved looking out of the big plastic bubble.
But her favorite by far was the slide! She went down it again and again until it was time to go. And then she cried.
And then it happened. We were struck by Claire’s first tummy bug. We first noticed her acting strangely when we were out at dinner and she wouldn’t touch her chicken (which is pretty much unheard of). She was considerate enough to wait until we got home to start throwing up. :( If you’d like a better account of our current situation, I suggest reading this post by the McGrew Crew. Our night was similar, though much easier since we only had one munchkin to deal with!
Today is a little better - she’s starting to keep things down so far. Hopefully we are on the mend!!!

Lately, everything is a phone to Claire. She picks up whatever she can find and says “hello?”. Of course, it sounds more like “awoo?” or “huh?” right now, but we know what point she’s trying to get across. We’re hopeful that this is not an indication of how high our phone bill will be in future years.
A couple of weeks ago we were in Costco when she picked up one of her favorite “phones” (my key fob) to use since I was on the phone at the time as well. Josh captured a little bit of it on his iphone. I apologize in advance for the on-screen tragedy that is my hair in this clip.

When my mom was here for her visit we took Claire on a little shopping expedition in search of several items, but ultimately it was the quest for the perfect bear. Mom documented some of it with her iphone.
We did not come across the perfect bear on this trip…HOWEVER…we did come across a very vital accessory that we could not live without. This accessory has magic qualities. If you doubt this, ask Landon McGrew or Korben Chaney, since they are the pioneers and trendsetters in this particular area. Their “accessories” are a little less pink though.

Mom thought this was a very cute bag (with detachable bear), but she had serious doubts as to whether Claire would truly enjoy it. I, knowing the powers these bags have from watching two toddler boys protectively roll theirs with them everywhere, thought differently.
So GG bought the bag for Claire as a sweet Valentine’s present. Sure enough, when we got home Claire dug her ballerina bear bag out of the store bag and rolled it around our house in a triumphal procession for probably an hour or more. The miles covered with this bag already seem endless. GG was very happily surprised at what a hit the bag was and still is.
Just an FYI - Claire did have on pants during the shopping trip. They were only removed after a diaper change at home. Just didn’t want people out there thinking I let my baby go out in scandalous attire. But I do love looking at those sweet little legs!

Josh brought this lion home from a second-hand store for Claire last week and the attraction was instant.
She can’t ride him by herself quite yet, but she knows what he is supposed to do when she gets on, so she tries to make him rock.
Can’t you just feel the love?
It is such a precious thing to give your child a gift and watch them experience it and enjoy it and appreciate it!
