Julianna Blythe Cochran arrived at 5:15pm on Wednesday evening! We are so excited about this precious tiny addition to our family! We really felt and appreciated all of the prayers and love and support, so thank you wonderful family and friends! Labor was long (actually pretty short by my standards considering how long I waited for Claire!), but delivery was really quick and awesome! After pushing twice for 10 seconds and laughing once (essentially I laughed her out!) she was here and we think that’s pretty appropriate since her middle name means “joyous”. We’ve been home since Thursday night but haven’t had much time or energy for posting anything, so here are just a few of the pictures of our time at the hospital welcoming our precious baby girl!

Sweet little sleeper

Claire comforts Mommy. I was lying on the couch and she actually climbed up on her own to lie beside me and give me kisses. Precious girl!

Julianna fast asleep after early morning visit to the pediatrician to check out jaundice levels, which are great now!
We’re settling in and adjusting to a very new and different life! I have a rapidly increasing respect for you mothers of two!
I can’t guarantee when I’ll post next, but I can guarantee there will be pictures!

At long last (and just in time, I might add!) we have finished the new nursery. Like Claire’s, the room is smaller and consequently difficult to photograph since it’s so hard to get far enough away to get good angles.

Tree Mural above crib - we're planning to eventually add a couple more picture frames to hang from the branches.

The bed (the black cord belongs to the baby monitor camera which we still have yet to hang.)

Changing area

Sitting area - The pictures hanging above the chair were made for me when I was a toddler by my Nanna!

Above the closet door. The cross is hard to see from here but it was beautifully hand-painted by a very special family friend (Weezy Stocks) and given to us at our wedding.
So that is basically that. Now the only thing that’s missing is Julianna, who has the hiccups right now and should be here very soon!

We have really enjoyed having Josh come home for lunch every day since his job is so close to home. Claire shouts “Hello!” at the top of her lungs when the door opens and he walks in at lunch time. She has definitely been loving the extra daddy-time. Yesterday she even got a mid-day pony ride! It’s no wonder that she enjoys her daddy so much!

Pretty soon there will be two girls hanging off of/ganging up on him! Can’t wait!

After an interesting checkup with the doctor yesterday, we have an update on the plan for next week. We’ll be going into the hospital on Tuesday evening, and then if labor hasn’t started by Wednesday morning they will start inducing with pitocin. Either way we should be a family of four by Thursday! It’s coming so quickly I can’t even believe it! We can’t wait to meet her!
Can you believe that this is the little person who is going to be a big sister?!?

We would LOVE to have your prayers for this next week!

The baby doll furniture has been assembled…the baby doll has been released from her plastic packaging…soon both the furniture and the baby doll will meet their new mommy (Clairebear) and we will be bringing the newest member of our family home from the hospital! Claire’s “big sister” shirt is ready to go and her special “big sister” sticker badge is safely stowed in my hospital bag. As of right now, we are set to induce on August 25…about a week and half from now!!! If there are any changes to the date, I’ll be sure to post them.

The baby’s room is pretty much finished, so I’ll post some pictures soon!
